A press plate is used to weld with loose tools (supplementary tools). The press plate is fastened in the machine’s electrode holder and is used to press against the loose tools placed directly on the material to be welded. In most cases the press plate is of the same length as the electrode holder. The press plate’s maximum width depends on the machine model, but it is generally between 200 and 450 mm wide.
